Since his move to Yazoo City, George has worked tirlessly to reactivate The Yazoo City Ministerial Association. He currently serves as president and helped establish a community wide Easter service and is involved in the community wide Thanksgiving service which is sponsored by the Association. He started a Prayer and Praise service that rotated from church to church each month. He and other members of the Ministerial Association endorsed a monthly Christian Men's Luncheon, which is held at one of the member churches.
George has been very involved with the Yazoo Boys and Girls Club and has served as chaplain since its inception. He also serves on the Board. He is a member of the advisory board of the MAP coalition which encourages abstention from alcohol and drugs. He was chosen by the Yazoo Herald as the 2008 Man of the Year.
He was instrumental in the formation of Stand Firm, an organization that promotes orthodox Christianity within the Episcopal Church, and which hosts an international Web site. www.standfirminfaith.com
